Higher School of Engineering and Technology

Andrei Kulikov

The Higher School of Engineering and Technology performs the full cycle of works related to the creation of new research-intensive devices and systems – from the formation of their design concepts to the release of complete design and technology documentation and the organization of small-scale production for industrial customers.

The school includes the following departments:

  • Research Center of Light-Guided Photonics (executive head: Andrei Kulikov; technical lead: Artem Aleinik);

  • Scientific and Research Center “Digital Space Technologies” (head: Oleg Timofeev);

  • Scientific and Production Center “Precision Electromechanics” (head: Valentin Tomasov);

  • Center for Development of Intellectual Property (head: Andrey Nikolaev);

  • Laboratory of Digital Optics (head: Aleksandr Vasilev).

Our graduates are foremost specialists with well-developed project management skills and knowledge of up-to-date digital technologies and applied development tools who can start to perform professional tasks without the need for onboarding.

During their studies, students independently share their learning tracks and begin to pursue their careers as:

  • professional engineers – who develop and implement knowledge-intensive systems and devices for various purposes and software and hardware control complexes;

  • scientists – who continue to pursue their academic career, enter PhD programs, and work on research projects;

  • innovative entrepreneurs – who launch high-tech companies and introduce new developments onto the market;

Studies at the Higher School of Engineering and Technology are practice-oriented. Our approach follows the formula project activities + professional English + soft skills + mid-level engineering.

Students can develop their hard and soft skills by joining projects by the university’s research centers and completing their internships at the partner companies, as well as different scientific organizations in St. Petersburg and beyond.

The school implements six programs for Master’s students:
